A Mother’s Lament

An Orca calf, beached in oppressive heat;

Her mother, consumed with agapέ, sends torturous wails

through the cobalt marine blue heartbeat of waves.

What keeps us from love?

What draws us to the self obsessed delirium of entitled philosophy?

Our ego?
