Wayfaring on an Autumn Road

I’m driving as the sunrises.

It’s autumn and pastel colours

Infect the hills either side of the road.

The spirit of a dying mist

Crawls along canal wood,

Snagging on forgetful hedgerows.

Everything is new,

Everything begins in you.

A reincarnation of essence,

That rises and sets,

Disinherits auburn leaves,

Never falters or grieves.

Is dependent, yet unpredictable,

Is deafening, in his silent

Indefatigable love of you.
